Learning to\, and being able to\, read and write is dependent on language and communication skills.\nThis workshop includes strategies and guidance on the following areas:\n-Meta cognition – teaching and modelling active listening skills\n-How collaborative learning can help children to improve their communication skills.\n-Oracy based activities that help children in their reading and writing\n-Universal (whole class) vocabulary teaching strategies.\n-Strategies to promote social Interaction and language and communication\, such as circle time.\n-Games/activities that promote active listening/talking for Reception\, Key Stage One and Two.\nThis workshop is for classroom teachers from Reception to Year 6.

Learning to\, and being able to\, read and write is dependent on language and communication skills.\nThis workshop includes strategies and guidance on the following areas:\n-Meta cognition – teaching and modelling active listening skills\nHow support staff can encourage and support ‘Think\, Pair\, Share’\n-Communication strategies you can use when supporting children either 1:1 or in a small group.\n-How to support children’s sentence construction through modelling.\n-Learn strategies to promote children’s thinking using open questioning\n-How to support students during collaborative learning activities\n-Using vocabulary teaching strategies to support children’s vocabulary acquisition.\n-Games/activities that promote active listening/talking for Reception\, Key Stage One and Two.\nThis workshop is suitable for all support staff working with children wither 1:1\, in small groups or in a whole class setting.
